Navigation

Comprehensive, automatic book navigation support is available in Pressto!. Readers can take advantage of intuitive ways to navigate their books that take little or no work from the designer.

Navigation Features

Swipe

Automatic gestures. Swipe left for next page and Swipe right for previous page.

Tap

Automatic gestures. Tap right border for next page and Tap left corner for previous page.

Chapter menu

When the publisher enables this feature, a Chapter Menu appears on the upper left corner of the screen, where the reader can rapidly select a Book Chapter aided by mini icons and text.

Coverflow

Best used in books with a small number of pages, allows readers to jump to any page by looking at a large thumbnail of the page. The reader just taps the screen to show the coverflow thumbnail page images and then move the swipes over them left or right to navigate to the desired

Slider

Best used in books with a larger number of pages, allows readers to jump to any page by  using a slider to display a thumbnail that the publisher can customize in shape and size. The reader just taps the screen to show the slider and then move the bottom slider bar left or right to navigate to the desired page while looking at custom thumbnail images of each page.

Jump

Tap on an image or page area to take the reader to any page in the book. This feature is widely used for standard “Table of Contents” or “Index” pages or anywhere else in a book where the reader should jump to another page.

Comics

Double tap on any panel in a comic to activate the special Comic navigation mode, that displays each panel in full size. Swipe left/right to move to the next/previous panel.

For example:

Double tap on the “horse panel” in the following Pressto Comic:

The panel will fill the whole iPad screen making the panel easier to read.

Then swipe left to advance to the following panel of the comic that Pressto! will show at full screen.
